Todd Machen is a coworker and friend at my day-job at Kaiser Permanente. He’s also a talented cartoonist. He has graciously given me permission to share his comic strip “Paws” with my readers. Every week I’ll add another installment in this delightful and funny cartoon series as we follow the cast of characters at “Paws,” a pet adoption center. Look for new updates every Sunday.

Creative Loafing’s 2009 Best of Atlanta voting continues through July 31 and this year they’ve added a category for Best Trivia Night. You’ll need to click on the link to show “more” under the “After Dark” category and scroll down toward the bottom till you get to the “Trivia Night” entry. This week’s invisible movie probably needs no hints. But if you really must have one, this 1992 comedy was based on an SNL skit and its cast included such notables as Rob Lowe, Tia Carrere, Lara Flynn Boyle, Robert Patrick (spoofing his role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Ed O’Neill, Meat Loaf, and Alice Cooper.
